Shawn Mayer

Shawn Ryan Mayer is an American multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves between photography, video, installation, performance, digital media, found objects, and emerging technologies. Combining physical and technological processes, Mayer transforms overlooked images and everyday materials into unexpected and often humorous experiences. His work examines online culture, play, improvisation, consumer aesthetics, urban environments, and the unstable distinction between ordinary objects and art. Mayer has presented several solo exhibitions at Liliana Bloch Gallery and has exhibited at CentralTrak, Lawndale Art Center, Art League Houston, 500X Gallery, Dallas Contemporary, and other spaces. He lives and works in Portland, Oregon, and is represented in Dallas by Liliana Bloch Gallery.
