Liliana Bloch Gallery presents 52-42-N-23-52-E-p2, a two-channel interactive video installation created by Bogdan Perzyński in 2008. Through moving image, color, sound, acoustic sensing, and programming, Perzyński expands video beyond the screen, bringing it into direct relationship with the physical space of the gallery.

The work developed from Perzyński’s research project, Rethinking the Significance of Pure Ecological Form, which examined the aesthetic, philosophical, and cultural ways we understand the natural world. The project centered on the Białowieża Forest, a primeval ecosystem spanning the border of Poland and Belarus.

Perzyński is a Professor and founder of the Transmedia Area in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin, one of the earliest interdisciplinary arts programs established within a U.S. university context. He studied law at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and architecture and fine arts at the University of Fine Arts in Poznań.
